A coil spring assist kit for the 2014-2017 RAM 2500, designed to restore ride height and control sag when the truck is carrying or towing. It works with the factory rear coils rather than replacing them, adding support only when the suspension compresses under load.
The problem it solves
A coil-sprung RAM 2500 rides well empty. Put a heavy tow ball weight or a loaded tray on it and the rear settles, which points the headlights at the trees, takes weight off the front axle and makes the steering feel light. A spring assist brings the rear back up without making the truck harsh when it's empty — which is exactly what fitting stiffer springs would do.
Choose it if you
- Tow intermittently and notice the rear sagging when the van is on
- Carry a load some of the time rather than permanently
- Want the empty ride quality left alone
Consider something else if the truck is loaded permanently — at that point a properly specified spring or an air-assist system will ride better than a factory coil with a helper working full-time.
